La'Porsha Renae to Perform at The House Student Leadership Center's 2016 National Capital A Cinderella Ball

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center announced today that La’Porsha Renae will perform at its eleventh anniversary National Capital A Cinderella Ball on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in Washington, D.C.  
 
La'Porsha was the wildly popular runner-up on the 15th and final season of American Idol.   The mother of one year-old Nayalee Kayla, Renae was able to overcome incredible obstacles on her way to fame, and has solidified her position as one of the greatest singers to ever grace the American Idol stage.  With overwhelming fan support, Renae was signed to 19/Motown Records with an expected album scheduled to be released the summer of 2016.  
 
The National Capital A Cinderella Ball honors children from military families living with a disability or life-limiting illness.  Presiding as Honorary Chair is First Lady Michelle Obama.  This quality-of-life public service initiative is hosted annually by pre-teen and teen members of The House Center Student Leadership Center as their social justice event for meaningful inclusion of their peers who are otherwise often sidelined.
