Master of Ceremonies, Robert Herjavec

WASHINGTON, DC – The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center announces Robert Herjavec, star of Shark Tank and Founder & CEO Herjavec Group will be its Master of Ceremonies at the tenth anniversary celebration and presentation of the National Capital A Cinderella Ball, Sunday, May 31, 2015 at The Willard, Washington, DC.

Born in Eastern Europe, Robert arrived to North America on a boat with his parents after escaping Communism in the former Yugoslavia. From delivering newspapers, and waiting tables, to launching a computer company from his basement, his drive to achieve has led him to the fulfillment of a better life for himself and his family.

A dynamic entrepreneur, Robert has built and sold several IT companies and now leads Herjavec Group, one of North America’s fastest growing technology companies specializing in managed security services for enterprise businesses globally. He shares his expertise with other entrepreneurs each week as a leading Shark on ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit show Shark Tank and is showcasing his dancing prowess as he competes for the coveted mirror ball on Dancing with the Stars.

“It’s an honour to attend A Cinderella Ball and I look forward to a very special afternoon engaging with the incredible children The House, Inc. celebrates,” says Herjavec. “I’m always telling my team 'No Excuses, Just Progress' and to see a group of young people who have overcome so much embracing this philosophy…it’s extremely inspiring.”

The Ball, which honors military families whose children are affected by a disability or life-threatening illness, is a powerful avocation by teen members of The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center serving the causes of their peers. Their support for the military-connected students and their unique needs is the high point of the Center’s commitment to public service-based learning.

“When students are given the opportunity and are supported in their efforts to make a difference, everyone benefits,” said Helen McCormick, President and Founder of The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center. “Robert will navigate perfectly A Cinderella Ball’s program and issues close to our heart.”
