The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center Announces its New Blueprint

WOODBRIDGE, VA – The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center, a provider of before, after school, and summer term programs for pre-teen and teens, announced today that the site of its athletic and leadership center will locate to 14000 Crown Court, Woodbridge, Virginia.

“We are excited to once again be on the forefront of Prince William Commons neighborhood reinvention,” said President and Founder Helen McCormick. “We look forward to approaching this opportunity through careful design and the engagement of the community in charting a path in youth leadership and co-curricular activities.” Priority of the two phase development project includes two indoor basketball spaces, a café, and a venue for its EmpowerMEnt Center for the engagement and training of a diverse population of youth in theories of influence and elements of leadership.

The second phase in the development includes a new outdoor multi-sport court in the heart of Woodbridge, directly across from the Center, facing Golansky Blvd. The green space will promote active, healthy-living lifestyle activities available to its students and their families.

Celebrating a decade of youth participation, the Center has long been a place where kids can socialize and decompress from the pressures of school and home life. The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center, named “One of the Best” high-impact nonprofits by The Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington, engages youth in training for leadership and cross over topics that affect them, with professional mentors to guide young people through high school and on to college access. Individuals and businesses are invited to unleash the potential of students with The House in this expansion project.
